[Product Review]: L'Oréal Paris Botanicals Fresh Care Safflower Rich Infusion Masque

I was deciding what to write as my 1st blogspot post, either a beauty product or a hair product. While I was in my shower, a tube which I was holding on my hand gave me an idea. Yes, it is the newly launched L'Oréal Paris Botanicals Fresh Care Safflower Rich Infusion Hair Masque!

Before I start my review, let me share a background why I chose this hair mask as my 1st post.

About a month ago, I finished my all time fav hair mask from Moist Diane and I visited Watson store wanted to buy a new tube again. Sadly, I couldn't find the hair mask I want even I had walked in to 3 Watson stores. I was very upset and decided to buy one from other brand as a substitution of my Moist Diane hair mask. I saw a new L'oreal series displayed in the store and I stood in front of the cabinet eyeing through all the 4 ranges, deciding which suit my hair condition. And lastly, I bought the Safflower Rich Infusion Masque with a price of RM49.90 (200ml) without discount.

I notice there are not much reviews I can find or refer about this hair product. So, I decided to share my thought about this hair masque after about one month of using.

This hair mask is targeted to dry hair. This is how the front and back of the tube looks.

At the front of the tube it mentioned the key points of this hair masque: "Nourishing preparation, infused with safflower oil, intensely softens hair".

While at the back of the tube it said :"With a botanical concoction of safflower, soya and coconut oils, the formula leaves hair feeling intensely nourished and silky soft to touch. Infused with a fresh, soothing aroma."

You can see the company aims on "No silicone, no colorant, no paraben" at each side too.

The masque is white in color (no colorant). Its texture is very rich and thick. Smell wise, quite decent and soothing. I personally feel its smell is pretty similar to the St. Ives Shea Butter Body Wash... Lolx~~~ (tell me if you do feel the same.)

Ingredients List:
Aqua/ water, cetearyl alcohol, glycine soja oil/ soybean oil, dipalmitoylethyl hydroxyethylmoniummethosulfate, cetylesters, cocosnucifera oil/ coconut oil, sodium benzoate, salicylic acid, pentaerythrityl tetra-di-t-butylhydroxyhydrocinnamate, linalool, linumusitatissimum seed oil/ lin seed oil, caprylyl glycol, carthamus tinctorius seed oil/ safflower seed oil, cetrimoniumchloride, citric acid, hexylcinnamal, parfum/ fragrance (F.I.L C193732/1)

It is weird that the English description at the back of the tube is slightly different than other languages. There isn't an instruction on how long the masque should stays on hair in English but I can see there is '3 minutter/3 min/3 minuuttia mentioned at other languages section which I believe it means to leave the masque on hair for 3 minutes.

I don't use hair conditioner. Indeed, I use hair mask as a replacement of hair conditioner each time after I washed my hair. As usual, I put this masque on my hair after washed and let it stays for 5 to 10 mins then rinses it off with warm water. I'm not lying , this masque soften and smoothen my hair instantly when my 1st apply it onto my hair. My previous Moist Diane hair mask works the same as well but I feel this L'oreal Botanicals masque gives much better and instant result than the Moist Diane.

 My hair in 50% dry.

My hair after I blew dry it completely. My hair is shiny, sleek, less frizzy and it is very soft and smooth to touch!

Here are my overall comments about this hair masque:-

PROS:
1. It does what it said, i.e.: it nourishes my hair leavings my hair healthier & more hydrated, silky soft to touch.
2. It leaves a fresh and calming smell on my hair even after 1 day.
3. My hair is less frizz and more manageable.
4. Hair still soft and smooth even after heat.
5. A small amount is enough to apply on my after medium length hair.

CONS:
1. It takes longer times to rinse because of its rich and thick consistency.
2. The tube design is unhygienic and not convenient. The manufacturer should markets it in flip top tube instead because sometimes I'm abit struggle to take the masques out from the tube especially when my hand is wet.
3. Hair might becomes greasy and oily if stay in humid, hot area.

Will I repurchase this? Yes. Despite the cons, I still recommend this hair masque to whom who with dry hair and looking for instant hydration hair masque. Although the price is abit pricey compares with other drugstore brands but it worth the penny such that it is a less chemical product.

Not forget to mention, I wash my hair every alternate day (depends on my daily activity). I used to experiment to only wash my hair and skip this masque after 1 alternate day and my hair is still smooth and soft!
